Lake County "Adopt-a-" Programs

To all Lake County citizens, organizations and businesses, welcome to the County’s portal for adopting a public facility. Click on an “Adopt-a” program to learn more about it.

The Lake County Adopt-a-Lake Program is a volunteer program that helps to preserve and enhance the County’s lakes. It is similar in some aspects to an adopt-a-road program.

The Adopt-a-Pet Program features select animals available for adoption from the Lake County Animal Services shelter. Pet adoptions are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The Adopt-a-Roadway Program is a volunteer litter prevention program for county roads. The program encourages local civic organizations, beautification, fraternal and business groups to adopt two or more miles of county and/or township roadways.
