This community based survey will gather opinions regarding issues, needs, and priorities from citizens for use in the
update to the 2010-2015 Lake County Consolidated Plan. The planning process is being conducted by the Lake County
Housing Services Division, whose Urban County members include Lake County and the cities of Tavares, Minneola,
Howey-In-the-Hills, Astatula, Lady Lake, Montverde, and Astor.

Housing Choice Voucher Application
The Housing Services Section’s mission is to provide an integrated system of services, resources and opportunities to help people improve their lives, the lives of others, neighborhoods and the total community. Eligibility requirements apply to the programs offered.
A variety of services are offered to the citizens of Lake County. These services include:
This program assists low-income households with the down payment and closing costs. Homes purchased may be existing or new construction. The applicant must be eligible to obtain a mortgage through a participating lender. The source of funding is through State House Initiatives Partnership (SHIP). Home repair program is designed to aid low income, owner-occupied homeowners with emergency housing problems that pose a serious and immediate threat to the health, safety or welfare of the household.
This program helps low-income households make emergency repairs to their home. The house must be owner-occupied and be the primary residence. The source of funding is through CDBG. For more information, call (352) 742-6540 or click here.

The Emergency Repair program is accepting applications as of 10/19/2012. Applications will processed on a first come, first served basis.
Applications are available at the Housing Services office.
Section 8 Rental Voucher program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. A rental subsidy is paid directly to the landlord by the housing agency on behalf of the participating family. The family then pays the difference between the actual rent charged by the landlord and the amount subsidized by the program. Eligibility for a rental voucher is determined based on the total annual gross income and family size. Applications are only accepted when the waiting list is open. Lake County annually receives Community Development Block Grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These funds are used to improve the living environment and quality of life for low and moderate-income citizens and their communities in Lake County. For more information call (352) 742-6540.
