Community Services Administration provides support to six divisions in the Lake County organizational structure with more than 120 employees: Agricultural Education Services, Citizen Support Services, Housing & Community Development, Library Services, Probation, and Public Transportation. Administration also provides contract management and incorporates many necessary community-based services that provide for the social, health and mental health needs of citizens. The Division provides state-mandated funding for numerous programs including the Health Care Responsibility Act, shared funding of Medicaid hospital and nursing home costs for eligible citizens, and financial support for LifeStream Behavioral Center and the County Public Health Unit. In addition, an annual allocation of funds by the County Commission makes local Human Services Program grant dollars available on a competitive basis to community organizations to expand needed social services to citizens. Certain other services are available directly to residents:
Human Services Grant Program
