Lake County Extension shares knowledge to improve the quality of human life, protect and sustain natural resources and environmental systems, and help Lake County food, fiber and agricultural industries stay competitive. Staff are dedicated to serving the educational and research needs of area residents.
The Horticultural Learning Center is an educational resource supporting programs in horticulture, gardening, landscape design and natural resource management. Discovery Gardens awakens the senses and is a hands-on learning tool for homeowners, garden enthusiasts, educators and children.
The Lake Soil & Water Conservation District works closely with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resource Conservation Service creating ways to conserve water, prevent soil erosion, convert irrigation systems and inform the public about conservation problems.
