This is little Reba we adopted her a couple of weeks. She loves to play ball with her big brother (Shephard) Diesel and she loves taking naps on her Daddy. She has been a great addition to our family. She now has 2 big brothers and a big sister and they make sure she is safe at all times.

We adopted Rudy from Lake County Animal Control about 2 years ago. What a sweetie! He was a scared little guy when we first got him. He was a little hesitant, as to where he fit in at our house, as we already had two dogs and a cat. Rudy, wanted so bad to love on us, but he seemed to be afraid that it was all too good to be true, that he had a great new home. It took about 6 months for him to truly come out of his shell ( please realize, just like humans, our adopted friends need time, to adjust to new surroundings) and he is an absolute doll! He wasn't too crazy about the cat, but he doesn't even bark at her anymore, and sometimes, just sometimes, he lets her rub up against him, but that is just between you and me. : ) All of our pets are rescue animals, and such a blessing! Please consider adopting from Animal Control, please have a open heart, patience, and give a new dog or cat a chance to be a part of your home.

Strawberry is now talk of the neighborhood. The 1st day she came home, she went through 4 fences & was out cruising the dirt roads. :)

Other than that she is very sweet & we enjoy sitting on the porch & watching her in the pasture.

We adopted Roo, a full blooded black lab into our family in August 2005. She was 4 months old. The previous owners had her, and adopted her from the Lake County Animal Services. They constantly picked her up because the owners were not keeping her safe. She is a part of our family now. She loves our family, animals, and loves children. She has grown into our hearts very much! Thank you for such a wonderful dog.

I am pleased to introduce Miss Sugar. Our family fell in love with her photo on the Animal Services website. As it was a few weeks before Christmas, we picked up the cat and wrote a letter to my granddaughter from Santa explaining that Miss Sugar needed a good home, and a little girl to love her. That is why Santa was giving her to Hailey early. As soon as she got home Hailey was thrilled by our newest addition and immediately called to tell me about the surprise from Santa.
Sugar is an amazing addition to our family. She is definitely the queen of the house and stays busy most days keeping our two little dachshunds in line!

HAD to share at least one more photo of my special pup. Thanks so very much to whoever dropped him off, and to the staff at the Lake County Animal Services shelter for taking him in and caring for him before I adopted him.

What a special pup! Not only is he a super clown who makes me laugh on a daily basis, but he's a real cuddle bug too. He loves going on adventures. He was nothing more than a balled-up bundle of shaking nerves when I discovered him, and he's now the joy of my life.

We are so happy to have added Zoey as the newest member of our family. She is sweet, good natured, full of energy and pretty well behaved considering how much my husband spoils her! This is her on our deck with our Yorkie, Linus.

We are absolutely thrilled to see her face and wagging tail every morning!

Joey was adopted in 2007. He is deaf, since birth, and has bad hips and knees, but he brings such joy to us all. He is a kind old spirit living in a dog's body, and he is a huge part of our little family. Can't imagine life without him.

She is now three years old and such a handful. She has one bad eye, which she got the day before I could pick her up, but it does not slow her down one bit. Loud sounds, and things out of place shake her up a little but she copes very well. We take long walks in the woods near the house on a daily basis. She hasn't met an animal she does not like yet. She makes me laugh and we depend upon each other.

I am handicapped with MS and Finny has been a great comfort to me. He is quiet and loving and loves to ride on the foot rest of my wheelchair. Shortly after we brought him home he identified a spot on my face which turned out to be melanoma cancer so we saved him and he in turn saved my life. He brings us much joy.

We adopted Jack just after Christmas 2010. He is a small Lab mix, about 40 pounds. He is sweet and mild. He gets along well with our other dogs. He is very loyal and protective, and he will walk for miles. It seems like he never gets tired when we take him for a walk.

We adopted Liza just after Christmas 2010. She is a ball of energy and she is a very good, little girl. She loves to play fetch all day long then sleep on your feet in the evening. We are so happy to have found her. We adopted her and Jack on the same day.

Whisper is a Catahoula/Boxer mix, and she is deaf. We heard about her through Catahoula rescue on FB, so we went down to visit her - love at first sight! It seemed no one was interested in adopting her because of her disability - their loss! Whisper has learned and continues to learn sign language. She gets along great with our other dogs! She is such an inspiration and we will adopt a deaf dog again, someday.

We adopted Victor (aka Shelby Lee) in May of 2010. He had been an abuse case that Animal Services picked up. After some rehabilitation (and 200 lbs) and retraining, we found a wonderful home for him in Brooksville where he continues to do great with his family and best friend, Sal. The picture is an "after" shot. A happy ending to a very deserving animal!

After losing 2 dogs in 2010 I went to the animal shelter and adopted my first dog on my own. I have always gotten large dogs so this time I was looking for a small one. She had become a member of our family and I love her more everyday. She helped me thru a hard time and I saved her from a bad time.
