The Department of Economic Development & Community Services provides assistance and manages services for both the businesses of Lake County and for the citizens of Lake County.  The Department works with numerous partners to improve the quality of life and is committed to the highest level of service possible. Economic Growth & Redevelopment
The mission of the Lake County Department of Economic Growth & Redevelopment is to provide excellence in service as a liaison between companies and government with the goals of creating a business-friendly environment and quality jobs for the citizens of Lake County.

Health & Human Services
provides services for many of Lake County Citizens and includes the following sections and programs:  Children's Services, Elder Services, Veterans Services, Community Health Worker Program and Prescription Drug Assistance Program.

Housing Services
The Housing Services Section’s mission is to provide an integrated system of services, resources and opportunities to help people improve their lives, the lives of others, neighborhoods and the total community.  Services include Home Ownership Assistance, Home Repair Assistance, Rental Assistance, and Community Development Block Grant.

Public Transportation
The Public Transportation Division of the Lake County Department of Community Services provides fixed-route services, LakeXpress, and paratransit, Lake County Connection, to local citizens and visitors.

Burial Assistance -- Assistance with burial or cremation of low-income citizens may be provided based on financial eligibility. For more information, call (352) 742-6583.
