 Lake County Tourism Expo 2014

The Lake County Economic Development & Tourism Department invites all Lake County businesses, chambers of commerce, government agencies and hoteliers that play a part in the area’s tourism industry to an upcoming Lake County Tourism Expo.

The event will give Lake County businesses who work in the tourism industry an opportunity to learn more about the Economic Development & Tourism Department; its role in helping to attract tourists and what the department does to support local tourism-related businesses. 

The event also offers a chance for businesses to network and learn more about what other attractions and hoteliers are doing to promote and support area tourism initiatives.

Featuring informational booths from area tourism-supporting businesses and organizations.

Presenters

Brandy HastingsBrandy Hastings joined VISIT FLORIDA in 2012, and is the Marketing Solutions and Sales Manager for the central and central east regions of the state. VISIT FLORIDA is the state's official tourism marketing corporation, and their mission is to promote travel and drive visitation to and within Florida. Brandy works with tourism partners to educate them on the marketing opportunities available through VISIT FLORIDA, and to strengthen the partnerships that VISIT FLORIDA has within the central and central east regions of the state.  She often speaks at industry events to showcase all of the exciting things taking place in Florida tourism.  Prior to her position at VISIT FLORIDA, she spent 15 years in the broadcast media industry, working both as an on air personality and account manager. She is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, and has called Florida home for the last 7 years. She currently resides in the Apopka area with her husband Jason, cat Lestat, and dog Mason. Brandy is an active member of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, Central Florida Vacation Rental Managers Association, Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association, and SKAL.

As the director of Lake County’s Economic Development & Tourism Department, Robert Chandler is a well-known presence countywide, directly supporting local business leaders while helping showcase Lake County as a prime tourism and business destination.
After having worked in the private business sector for most of his career in North Carolina and Orlando, Chandler, a native of Lake County and a Leesburg High School graduate, decided he wanted to return to his roots.

Chandler was an associate at Fishkind & Associates, Inc. and an account coordinator at IMG before joining the Lake County Board of County Commissioners in 2011. He earned his Master of Business Administration in Real Estate and Marketing from the University of Florida, and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Davidson College.
