Responsible for supervising the maintenance of navigability of the public waterways by controlling nuisance vegetation. Operates, utilizes, and maintains boats, trucks, spray systems, chemicals, and other field and lab equipment in accordance with federal, state and local agencies and regulations.
Requires education or training equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in biological science, environmental science, pest management or a closely related field with four years of related experience, at least two of which have been in a supervisory capacity.
A valid Florida class “E” driver’s license is required. Must possess, or obtain within six months of employment, state certification in general standards for pesticide application with the category of aquatic’s application. Certification in the category of Public Health Pest Control is recommended.
