The Administration Division provides support services for the department, including general administration, accounting, budgeting, and planning. Included in this division is the Architectural Services area. This area directs and coordinates the activities of professional architects, engineers, and other consultant personnel with regard to new and existing facilities. The staff architect prepares initial concept drawings and contributes to initial cost estimate. Staff duties include reviewing and approving all plans an specifications submitted by consultants, contractors, and other agencies to ensure conformance with project guidelines and all applicable local, state, and national building codes and practices.
The Administration Division also provides planning and oversight for projects under construction by assessing the plans and costs for new County facilities, and for proposed renovations to existing facilities. The Division works jointly with the Architectural Services area to direct and coordinate the activities of professional architects, engineers, and general contractors throughout the life of these projects. Staff ensures that projects conform to project guidelines and all applicable local, state, and national building codes and practices.
The Administration Division also oversees custodial, lawn care, and pest control contracts to ensure proper care is taken to retain the value and appreciation of existing facilities. |
