Upcoming Construction Projects
- Emergency Operations Center Will soon be in design phase. BCC approved in March to move to programming phase. Nearly $4.5 million in state/federal grants are earmarked for this project. Facility will bring together key agencies in one room to facilitate sheltering of evacuees, search & rescue law enforcement, debris removal and other emergency activities.
- Animal Control Services
Being reviewed for expansion and/or renovation.
- Historic Courthouse Renovations Currently vacant, the Historic Courthouse will be renovated for the Sheriff’s staff. The Sheriff’s Administration Building will also be renovated to accommodate the Sheriff’s staff remaining in the Sheriff’s Administration Building.
- Leesburg Health Clinic
Currently in design phase.
The Department of Facilities Development and Management is responsible for:
- Procurement of professional consultant and construction services.
- Financial management, construction auditing, and oversight of all county capital improvements.
- Coordination of the Planning, Design, Construction, Management, and Maintenance of existing and proposed County-owned and leased facilities. These facilities are utilized by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, its Constitutional Officers, and the Citizens of Lake County, Florida.
