Wellness Way Sector Plan Community Meeting - Nov. 1, 2012
You are invited to attend an
upcoming community meeting to discuss the County's Wellness Way Sector Plan. The meeting will take place on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Building 1,
Room 204 at the Lake-Sumter Community College South Lake Campus,
located at 250 N. Hancock Road in Clermont. The purpose of the meeting will be to address economic development,
land use, transportation, financing, water supply and public facility
needs that would affect the 16,200 acres within the Wellness Way Sector

Digital/Electronic Signatures for Online Permitting
As part of the online permitting process, an architect or engineer must be able to digitally/electronically sign their plans for a single-family dwelling unit, commercial structure, site plan or preliminary plat. The specific requirements an engineer has to meet for a digital signature are found in the Florida Administrative Code 61G15-23.003 and for an architect they are found at 61G1-16.005. Read more »
Internet Block Permits Discontinued
Due to availability of internet permitting Block permits have been discontinued. Internet permits are processed within one business day.
School Impact Fees Suspended
On April 5, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners enacted a 15-month suspension on the collection of school impact fees.

Gopher Tortoise and Burrow
Before you begin clearing for a building project, you must obtain a permit from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) if
either gopher tortoises or their burrows are present on the development site.
The gopher tortoise is protected under Florida law, Chapter 68A-27 of the
Florida Administrative Code. Protect yourself and this imperiled species.
