The Department of Growth Management is responsible for short- and long-range planning; review, permitting and inspection of land development; and monitoring of the environment in unincorporated Lake County under the County's Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations.
Growth Management divisions and services including Building Services, Planning, Zoning, Concurrency and Impact Fees are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that Building Inspections are not available on Friday.

There has been a lot of interest in energy independence and reducing the amount of fossil fuels required for agricultural production. This program will provide valuable insight on potential programs or technologies to accomplish these goals.

Before you begin clearing for a building project, you must obtain a permit from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) if either gopher tortoises
or their burrows are present on the development site.

Florida Administrative Code. Protect yourself and this imperiled species.
