The Lake County permitting team strives to provide the highest level of customer service by providing a fully trained team dedicated to serving the public. The goal of the Permitting Division is to administer and enforce all building and licensing laws, rules and regulations in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of the public. The Division continues to improve its services through Internet permitting, fax block permits and "master filing" for speedy same-day permits. The Division also offers the use of Visa, MasterCard and Debit accounts for making payments over the telephone.

The Division has created an array of brochures explaining the process of obtaining permits including single family homes, re-roofs and pools. Each brochure details the process and gives an itemized list of paperwork needed to obtain the desired permit.

When obtaining a permit, a permit specialist guides the customer through the permitting and inspection process in detail in order to provide all information necessary to complete their project. Internet permitting, electronic plan review and payment online are available in limited quantity and will be come more available in the near future.
