Notice: The County has adopted Ordinance 2009-19, Noise Protection Standards. The ordinance requires a noise study for certain new development and requires recommendations of the noise study to be incorporated into the design and implementation of the new development. Sections 14.07.04(A), 14.07.05(A)(2)(g), 14.09.01(B), and 14.10.02(B), Land Development Regulations, are being amended to reflect the requirement for a noise study during varying stages in the development process.

There will be grace period until June 13, 2009 for submittal of a Noise Study as required by the new ordinance. Applications submitted without a Noise Study during the grace period will not be found insufficient for this reason. Zoning will process the application and inform the applicant that a Noise Study is required prior to approval of the application. We are implementing this step to ensure that our customers are not held up as we make the development community aware of the new requirement.
