If a written Flood Determination is required, please take either a copy of the property tax bill or the legal description of the property to Public Works. There is a $30.00 fee and a 24-hour turn-around for this process.

If there is floodplain on the property, a ‘Floodplain Construction Authorization Permit’ will be required as part of the overall permit package. This permit is available for an $80.00 fee. Indicate on the Flood Determination application that permits are being pulled and one will be issued with your Flood Determination. There is no additional cost for this permit. This form must be turned in with the complete package for submittal to the Building Services Division.

If you have been issued the Floodplain Construction Authorization Permit, two (2) finished floor Elevation Certificates will be required as part of the building process. The first Elevation Certificate (Under Construction) will be required before the slab is poured, taken at either the top of the form boards or top of the stem wall, etc. This form must be submitted to Public Works. When this form is approved for accuracy and completeness, the property will be released so the customer may schedule a slab inspection. Once the structure is completed, another Elevation Certificate will be required (Finished Construction). Again, this will be submitted to Public Works so that final inspections may be scheduled and a Certificate of Occupancy issued.
