Lake County celebrates GIS Day 2009!
Lake County is participating in the 11th Annual Geographic Information System (GIS) Day on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the rotunda of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St. in Tavares.
The event will include GIS software demonstrations, a map gallery of Lake County GIS projects and a prize drawing. Attendees will be able to meet the Lake County GIS system operators, ask questions, and even try some GIS activities.
GIS Day is a global event as thousands of users of GIS technology educate millions of people about how geography makes a difference in our lives through the technology of GIS. A GIS represents computer software, data and solutions that are used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide in government, education and business.
