The mission of this Office is to provide the best in technology services and solutions to the County offices so that they may better serve the citizens of Lake County.
The Office of Information Technology is made up of Administration Services, Information Systems Division, Programming and Application Support Services, Telecommunications Systems, and Records Management.
The Office consists of 22 full-time personnel who are the technical support for Board of County Commissioners employees. The Office installs, maintains, troubleshoots and establishes network connectivity for more than 700 computers, 50 network file servers and numerous printers at more than 30 buildings throughout the County.
Administrative Services
IT administrative services consists of three employees that handle the budgeting, bill paying, staffing, training, strategic planning, contract management, asset management, and other day to day operations within the Office of Information Technology. Information Systems
Information Systems (IS) is responsible for maintaining the county network backbone and servers along with providing desktop support to the over 700 desktops and laptops throughout the county. Helping maintain electronic communication amongst employees and citizens is one of their primary roles. Geographic Information Systems
Lake County's GIS Division creates and maintains spatial information to aid in the creation of maps and data analysis to support County departments and their customers.
Programming and Application Support Services
Programming and Application Support Services (PASS) process redesign and automation through the use of technology. They are also responsible for maintaining installed applications and databases throughout the county and promoting the DataOne initiative. Records Management
Records Management stores, references, retains and retrieves public documents generated by most offices under the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. Citizens make their request to the appropriate Lake County department and Records Management handles the requests from the departments. Telecommunications
Telecommunications maintains the phone system for all of the constitutional offices of Lake County; this includes the BCC, Sheriff, Clerk of Courts, Tax Collector, Supervisor of Elections and Property Appraiser.
