Lake County installs a new voicemail-server platform that offers better performance and faster access to messages. The server also features several tools to help manage mailboxes and messages.

  • The Desktop Phone Manager allows users to make voicemail box changes without having to pick up the phone. To make changes, open the program and log into a mailbox. Users can make changes to voicemail notification, message forwarding, out-of-office messages and other options. Telecommunications staff can install the program on a user’s computer to allow this feature.

  • Web Phone Manager is the same as Desktop Phone Manager, but with added features and is also available from home. By adding a unified messaging license, users are able to get voicemails via the Web Phone Manager interface. There is no software to install.

  • Text to Speech is a feature that gives the voicemail server access to e-mails and will read them aloud to a user. This feature is currently only working with the BCC e-mails.

Currently Telecommunications is running dual service between the old voicemail platform and the new platform.
