 How to Become a Vendor

Lake County departments under the Lake County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) purchase goods and services in accordance with the purchasing procedures of the County. These procedures provide for both the centralized and decentralized purchasing responsibilities.

Why should I register as a potential vendor with the Lake County BCC?
Registering online as a vendor allows the County to immediately inform a vendor (via e-mail) when a new bid that meets commodity codes of a vendor is opened. When a new bid is open, County's automated system scans through all of the registered vendors who match the commodity codes of the new bid. An automatic e-mail is sent to the registered vendor informing them of the new open bid.

To register as a potential vendor with the Lake County BCC:

  1. Register on www.lakecountyfl.gov.
  2. Go to the online Vendor Registration form and fill in all required fields.
  3. Once a vendor is registered, they will begin to receive e-mails whenever a new bid is opened that matches the commodity codes that have been selected.

Registration in the Lake County BCC vendor list does not guarantee that a vendor will receive a solicitation for goods or services, since the County only solicits offers when there is a requirement. A vendor should not list commodities or services that they cannot provide a responsive offer for if solicited. Failure to respond to solicitations (submission of a bid or proposal or a NO-BID statement) is interpreted as a lack of interest and after three times may lead to removal from the potential vendors list. It is important that vendors promptly notify the County if there is a change of address, especially e-mail addresses. Many commodities and services are only solicited occasionally or at lengthy intervals of three to eight years.

A vendor does not have to register as a potential vendor to download Open Bids/RFPs.
