Palatlakaha Environmental and Agricultural Reserve (PEAR Park) “Gateway” is the front 50 acres of the park and represents the active use area offering numerous recreational amenties including two softball fields, one football/soccer field, two large picnic pavilions with grills, playground, canoe and kayak launch (currently closed due to low water), geo-caches, "life trail" exercise stations, and access to the park’s hiking and nature trails. The "Gateway" also features a large dog park with five different areas for dog of various ages, sizes, and abilities. This area also boasts natural areas that provide habitat for wildlife for the keen eyed visitors to see, including Summer Tanagers, Bobcat, Gopher Tortoise, Oak Toad, Black Racers, and Cooper’s Hawk.

This park hosts many educational and recreational opportunities for the whole family. Check the calendar for the times and dates of events hosted by Lake County Park & Trails. Future improvements for PEAR Park include courts for pickleball, tennis and basketball, as well as additional parking, restrooms and a paved recreational trail.
