Twin Lakes Park offers the opportunity to enjoy a quiet picnic while the children play in one of the two playgrounds, shoot baskets on the basketball court or stroll the trail and boardwalk while enjoying nature. The park features three pavilions with grills, lots of shade, restrooms and a ¼-mile trail and boardwalk. The park is a great place to go birding especially in the fall, with 73 species having been seen to date. The park’s boardwalk allows visitors to walk above a ephemeral sinkhole pond often hiding many birds, amphibians and reptiles, depending on the water levels. The oaks harbor Gray Squirrels, Black Racers and Northern Parulas, while the meadows, which are sometimes wet, can hold Northern Bobwhite (Quail) and Eastern Bluebirds with Ospreys and Bald Eagles soaring overhead.
