Speaking Presentation Requests

The Lake County Fire Rescue Division offers a variety of educational activities to inform the public about fire prevention and life safety initiatives. Upon special request, the Fire Rescue Safety Trailer, donated by the Mount Dora Kiwanis Club, travels throughout the County providing fire safety education. Speakers are available for community events, homeowners associations, or civic clubs with various programs geared specifically to children or other target audiences. For more information or to schedule a Lake County Fire Rescue appearance at a function, call (352) 343-9458 or e-mail FRinfo@lakecountyfl.gov with at least a four-week advance notice of the event due to a high demand for these services.

Training Certification Requests

CPR and First Aid Training are available contingent upon budgetary funding. Certified instructors may be requested by calling the Fire Rescue Administration at (352) 343-9458.

Juvenile Firesetters Intervention

The Juvenile Firesetters Intervention Network of Lake County is a multi-agency collaborative effort to provide an educational and diversionary program for youth directly involved in firesetting behaviors. A juvenile firesetter is a child between the ages of 4-17 years old that is directly involved in firesetting behavior either out of curiosity, crisis, peer-pressure, delinquency or pathological reasons.

Remedial counseling is provided, as needed, for juveniles that present an at-risk firesetter behavior. The program’s overall objective is to keep these children out of the judicial system and prevent any possible injuries or property damage that may result from firesetting.

Participating network agencies include: Clermont Fire Department, Eustis Fire Department, Eustis Police Department, Groveland Fire Department, Lake County Fire Rescue, Leesburg Fire Department, Mascotte Fire Department, Tavares Fire Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Organization of School Resource Officers, Lifestreams Youth and Family Counseling Centers, Department of Juvenile Justice, Teen and Juvenile Courts, The Office of the State Attorney, the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office, and Mid-State Fire and Safety.

Online Public Education Requests

Public education activities can also be scheduled using an online form. Use the following directions to submit a request:

1. Download and open the Fire Safety Education Activity Request Form. (890 KB)

2. Fill in all of the required fields outlined in red.

3. If you use a local e-mail client (such as Outlook Express or Thunderbird), you may submit the form by clicking the "Submit by Email" button at the bottom of the form. This will automatically open up an e-mail with your submission attached. Simply click "Send" in the opened e-mail to send your completed request.

4. If you use webmail (such as Yahoo Mail or Hotmail), you may submit the form by saving the PDF to your computer and then attaching it in an e-mail to FRinfo@lakecountyfl.gov. Please use the subject line of "Education Activity Request".
