The 45 acres of Lake Idamere Park, located off State Road 19 along County Road 448, offers a variety of thing to do from a leisurely canoe or kayak around Lake Idamere, to a shaded picnic while children of any ability play on the playground.
The park also features a dog park with areas for different size dogs, pavilions with grills and tables for a cookout or picnic, fishing pier, and a 2-mile hiking trail.
Lake County’s Park Rangers regularly lead nature hikes or canoeing and kayaking kayak trips to explore the parks diversity of life, which includes more than 20 species of butterflies, 66 species of birds, Scrub Lizards, Gopher Tortoise and on occasion a Bobcat, as well as many other animals and insects. The park also has many species of native plants and the park received a donation of 16 Bald Cypress and numerous other native plants to increase the beauty and biodiversity of the park.
