Road Construction Projects

Recently Completed Projects:
  1. CR-19A – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between Dodson Cutoff Road and Azalea Drive in Mount Dora. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $48,346.40. Construction was completed in March 2010.
  2. Lakeshore Drive – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between Preston Cove Road and King Fisher Drive in Clermont. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $33,175.80. Construction was completed in March 2010.
  3. Lake Griffin Road – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between Lemon Street and Grays Airport Road in Lady Lake. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $150,575.18. Construction was completed in April 2010.
  4. CR-466A – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between Cutoff Road and US-27/441 in Fruitland Park. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $131,904.21. Construction was completed in April 2010.
  5. Eagles Nest Road – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between US-27 and Ridge Road in Fruitland Park. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $130,010.16. Construction was completed in April 2010.
  6. Goose Prairie Road – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between Emeralda Road to CR-452 in Lisbon. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $128,915.72. Construction was completed in April 2010.
  7. Dead River Road Drainage Improvement – Installed a storm sewer and inlet system within the right-of-way along Dead River Road and within the Imperial Terrace West Mobile Home Park in Tavares, and constructed a stormwater pond on an 8.3-acre parcel to provide treatment of the stormwater runoff from the 52-acre project area. The project was awarded to Blue Ox Land Services, Inc. on August 18, 2009, in the amount of $1,285,819.35. Construction was completed in May 2010.
  8. CR-455 – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between SR-19 to CR-561 in the South Astatula area. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $271,811.01. Construction was completed in May 2010.
  9. CR-474 – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from a point lying between SR-33 to US-27 in South Lake County. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $1,548,906.80. Construction was completed in June 2010.
  10. CR-437 and Wolf Branch Road – An intersection improvement project that included the construction of turn lanes, the installation of a traffic signal, and an extension of Wallick Road. The project was awarded to Boykin Construction, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $855,580.80. Construction was completed in July 2010 in time for the opening of the newly constructed Sorrento Elementary School.
  11. CR-448 – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project that resurfaced from 0.2 miles East of Lake Industrial Boulevard to 0.1 miles West of Grand Oak Lane in Lake Jem. Also included in this project was the construction of paved shoulders within the ARRA portion in addition to constructing paved shoulders from a point West of Lake Industrial Boulevard to a point near Lois Drive and improving the intersection of Lois Drive with the installation of turn lanes. The project was awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $1,577,144.44. Construction was completed in August 2010.
  12. CR-42 – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project and a Local Agency Program Agreement project that widened and resurfaced from 0.3 miles West of Holmes View Drive to the entrance of the Clear Lake Recreation Area in the Altoona area. The project was awarded to Hubbard Construction Company on December 1, 2009, in the amount of $1,227,332.85. Construction was completed in September 2010.
  13. PEAR Park Entrance Road – Constructed a new entrance road off US-27 at the entrance of PEAR Park in Leesburg. The project was awarded to James Decker Construction on April 6, 2010, in the amount of $208,411.68. Construction was completed in September 2010.
Projects Under Construction:
  1. Getford Road Drainage Retrofit – Construct an 8-acre regional wet detention stormwater pond and a storm sewer system to convey stormwater runoff from Getford Road to the proposed stormwater pond. This pond will provide treatment before discharging to Trout Lake, an impaired water body. Also included is a littoral planting zone within the pond as well as a walking trail surrounding the pond to create a passive park environment to benefit both the City of Eustis and Lake County residents. The project was awarded to Aagaard-McNary Construction, Inc. on September 22, 2009, in the amount of $1,446,286.94. Construction is anticipated to be completed in September 2010.
  2. CR-473 and Treadway School Road – An intersection improvement project in the Bassville Park area. The project was awarded to Ciraco Underground on July 6, 2010, in the amount of $254,800. Construction is anticipated to be complete in October 2010.
  3. Picciola Bridge – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project to replace the bridge on CR-466A (Picciola Road). The project was awarded to Russell Engineering, Inc. on June 15, 2010, in the amount of $4,296,063.99. Construction is anticipated to be complete in July 2011. 
Near-Future Construction
  1. Estes Road – A drainage improvement project located on the north side of Estes Road near the intersection of CR-44 in Eustis. The project was awarded to Art Walker Construction on August 24, 2010. Construction will begin at the end of September 2010.
  2. Old Highway 441 and CR-46 – An intersection improvement project that includes the installation of a turn lane on Old Highway 441 and the modification of the existing traffic signal. Landscaping improvements funded by the City of Mount Dora are also included in this project. It was awarded to Anglin Construction on September 21, 2010, in the amount of $486,073.76. Construction will begin in October 2010.
  3. Citrus Tower Boulevard and Steve’s Road – An intersection improvement project that includes the installation of a traffic signal and sidewalk construction in the Clermont area. The project is scheduled for award to Traffic Control Devices on October 5, 2010, in the amount of $224,140. Construction will begin in November 2010.
Projects Pending
  1. Citrus Tower Boulevard and Oakley Seaver Drive – An intersection improvement project that includes the installation of a traffic signal in the Clermont area. Bids are scheduled to be received September 30, 2010.
  2. CR-42 and SR-19 – An intersection improvement project that includes construction turn lanes and paved shoulders, installing a traffic signal, and realigning a portion of CR-42. Bids are scheduled to be received October 7, 2010.
  3. CR-44 and CR-19A  – Local Agency Program project with the Florida Department of Transportation to improve the intersection. The project will be bid in November 2010.
  4. Mount Homer Road and David Walker Drive – Local Agency Program project with the Florida Department of Transportation to improve the intersection. The project will be bid in November 2010.
  5. CR-44 – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project to resurface from .1 mile West of North Silver Lake to Poe Street in Leesburg. The project will be bid in October 2010.
  6. CR-452 – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project to resurface from .1 mile North of CR-44 to .1 mile South of Sandy Lane in Eustis. The project will be bid in October 2010.
  7. CR48 – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project to resurface from Sumter County to CR-33 in Okahumpka. The project will be bid in October 2010.
  8. Sleepy Hollow Road – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project to resurface from Sunnyside Drive to .3 mile South of US-441 in Leesburg. The project will be bid in October 2010.
  9. Lakeshore Drive Bridge – An American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 project to replace an existing 2-lane, five span bridge with a new 2-lane single span bridge in Clermont. The project will be bid in October 2010.
