The Lake County web site is offered to you, the user ("User"), conditioned on acceptance of the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein, without modification. User access and use of this site constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. If you do not wish to consent to the terms, conditions and notice contained herein exit this system now.

The website is a Lake County system, provided as a public service. Government personnel and the general public may use this system to review and retrieve publicly available government information. User agrees to use this web site as permitted by applicable local, state, and federal laws. User agrees, therefore, not to: 1) knowingly and without authorization, alter, damage, or destroy Lake County's or another user's computer system, network, software, program, documentation or data contained therein; 2) use this service to conduct or attempt to conduct any business or activity or solicit the performance of any activity that is prohibited by law. PRIVACY POLICY

It is the policy of the State of Florida that all state records are open for public inspection. This policy is embodied in the Florida Constitution, together with the right of an individual to be free from unauthorized governmental intrusion into their private life, as provided in Article 1, Section 23. The county welcomes followers to share their thoughts and feedback in a responsible and courteous manner.

While it is the goal to share ideas and information with as many people as possible, the County reserves the right to hide or remove prohibited content in any and all posts or comments, and ban any user who violates county's social media terms of use.

The County's terms of use are in place to encourage open discussion and civil discourse, and to prevent users from disrupting dialog in a way that impedes the purpose of these social media sites.

The following types of comments may be hidden or removed.

  • contain obscene, indecent, vulgar or profane language or content
  • contain hate speech, or content that promotes, fosters or perpetuates discrimination of protected classes

  • contain sexual harassment or violent content, or content that bullies, intimidates, threatens, personally attacks or harasses any person
  • make or publish false, vicious or malicious statements concerning any employee, the county or its operations

  • suggest, conduct or encourage illegal activity
  • may compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems
  • disclose confidential, sensitive or proprietary information

  • violate a legal ownership interest of any other party such as copyrights or trademark infringements

Repeatedly posting prohibited content will be cause for banning a user from participating on any of Lake County's official pages. Users who repeatedly post material that falls into any of the prohibited content categories will be banned from participating on any Lake County-hosted social media sites.

Comments posted to any of Lake County's Facebook pages do not represent official statements or opinions by Lake County, nor does Lake County endorse or support any comment or user participating on Lake County's social media pages. Retweets, links, shares, likes, favorites and follows made by Lake County do not constitute endorsements.

Comments or any other posting made on Lake County's social media pages are not considered official communications with Lake County. SOCIAL MEDIA AVAILABILITY AND FREQUENCY

Social media postings can be expected regularly on weekdays during normal business hours, except on holidays. The number of postings per day, per page, may vary. Lake County's social media pages are not managed 24 hours per day or 7 days per week. Because social media servers are hosted by a third party, Lake County accepts no responsibility for its social media networks becoming unresponsive or unavailable at any time.

JURISDICTION

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. User consents to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of courts in Lake County, Florida, USA, in all disputes arising out of or relating to the use of this web site. Use of this web site is unauthorized in any jurisdiction that does not give effect to all provisions of these terms and conditions, including without limitation this paragraph.

Lake County's performance of this Agreement is subject to existing laws and legal process and nothing contained in this Agreement is in derogation of Lake County's right to comply with law enforcement requests or requirements relating to the User's use of this web site or information provided to or gathered by Lake County with respect to such use.

SEVERABILITY

If any part of this Agreement is determined to be invalid or unenforceable pursuant to applicable law including, but not limited to, the warranty disclaimers and liability limitation set forth above, then the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the Agreement shall continue in effect.

CLOSING OF AGREEMENT

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the User and Lake County with respect to this web site and it supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral or written, between the User and Lake County with respect to this web site. This Agreement shall be deemed to include all other notices, policies, disclaimers and other terms contained in this web site; provided, however, that in the event of a conflict between such other terms and the terms of this Agreement, the terms of this Agreement shall control. A printed version of this Agreement and of any notice given in electronic form will be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings based upon or relating to this Agreement to the same extent and subject to the same conditions as other business documents and records originally generated and maintained in printed form.
