    Operating April through October, Capt. Dave gives tours of what a leading sport writer in the 1930s penned the "beautiful mile of water in the world," the Dora Canal.

    The recreation area is nestled in an oak hammock near the community of Paisley. The recreational area is in the Ocala National Forest and includes a 32-acre lake, access to hiking and biking trails and 42 campsites.

    Located on the shores of Lake Eustis, the park and the band shell were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Intended as a memorial park, it has many monuments located throughout the grounds.
