    This 18-hole championship course has six sets of tees measuring between 5,044 and 7,062 yards. With the large selection of tees, all skill levels should find a comfortable starting point. The practice facility includes a two-way driving range and a 40,000-square-foot short game area. Black Bear also provides a "shoot-out" hole, No. 19, for special events or for those who just can't get enough of a good thing. Black Bear Golf Club follows in the tradition of what is fast becoming a long line of highly-praised P.B. Dye designed courses. Golfers at Black Bear can count on the "usual unusual" Dye trademark touches, such as undulating greens, sandy waste bunkers and dramatic elevation changes. Black Bear is centrally located 40 miles from the cities of Orlando, Daytona Beach and Ocala. DME Rangefinders are available for accurate distance measurements.

    This typical Central Florida course features pine trees lining its narrow fairways. Water hazards (ponds and lakes) come into play on 15 holes. This scenic course is located at the highest elevation in Florida.

    Just across Lake Dorefrom Mount Dora, Fla. From Orlando, take U.S. Highway 441 north to Sadler Road. Approximately 2 miles before Mount Dora, turn LEFT and follow the signs to Deer Island Golf and Lake Club. From Florida's Turnpike exit 285, take State Road 19 north for 11 miles. Turn right at County Road 561 and follow the signs to Deer Island Golf and Lake Club. Course designed by Joe Lee.

    This course was built on rolling terrain and has sand bunkers throughout the course. There are great views of the area from the course. The undulating greens are medium in speed. There are some scattered trees and sand bunkers throughout the course. There are seldom any flat lies.

    This course was built on hilly terrain and also affords a scenic view of Lake Griffin. Water hazards come into play on three holes on the back nine. The signature hole is #10, a 485-yard, par 4, requiring a shot over water and a fabulous view of Lake Griffin.

    This 18-hole facility is situated on relatively flat terrain. The short distance places a great premium on accuracy and provides a great setting for practicing the short game. The fairways are open on the front nine while the back nine holes are lined with homes. The greens are large and undulating. The signature hole is #18, a 339-yard, par 4, which offers a bunker on the left, homes on the right and trees surrounding the green. This challenging finishing hole overlooks the clubhouse and pro shop.

    The Legends is a Clifton, Ezell & Clifton design situated just 35 minutes west of Orlando in Clermont. Artfully carved from former citrus groves, the course boasts a multitude of rolling fairways, bordered by perimeter mounding that lead to undulating, well-bunkered greens. Water is found on six holes and there's a multitude of great dogleg holes, but the course is most memorable for its extremely challenging par 3s. The expansive "mountain-top" driving range boasts elevation drops of 75 to 100 feet with brilliant views.

    This resort has two outstanding 18-hole regulation courses, rated four stars by "Golf Digest" magazine. The El Campeon course, a traditional-style design, has many elevation changes that will challenge the most advanced of golfers. The greens are small, and the fairways are narrow. In addition, water hazards come into play on almost every hole. The Las Colinas course features a links-style design with open fairways, but water hazards come into play on at least eight holes. Both courses will be included in the 2008-2009 edition of Best Places to Play by "Golf Digest." The resort is also home to the Mission Inn Golf Academy, Bird Golf Academy and Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy.
