Lake County Completes Traffic Signal Synchronization Project Lake County completed a countywide traffic signal synchronization project in the fall of 2011 resulting in a combined yearly savings in time and value of $4.7 million and 620,625 gallons of fuel for Lake County citizens. The project focused on retiming 49 traffic signals along nine of the county’s major corridors. The U.S. Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) funded the energy-savings project. January 11, 2012

Lake County Contractors Approved for Weatherization Projects LEESBURG - Lake County contractors successfully completed a two-day training program on Aug. 1 and 2 titled Florida Workmanship Standards. The course was designed to qualify the ten participants to bid for projects awarded under the Florida Weatherization Assistance Program. New Product Added to Lake County’s GO GREEN GET GREEN Rebate Program The Lake County Board of County Commissioners recently added ENERGY STAR® qualified gas storage water heaters to the list of products for the GO GREEN GET GREEN rebate program. The addition allows Lake County residents who replace an existing water heater with a new ENERGY STAR® qualified gas storage water heater to apply for a rebate from Lake County for 25 percent of the total cost or up to $500. Second phase of traffic light synchronization project gets the green light The Lake County Department of Public Works will continue the process next week of rolling out improvements to the traffic light synchronization timing that began last month. The second phase will include improvements to several intersections along State Road 19 in Eustis.
