The Lake County Historical Museum offers an exciting and informative view of Lake County’s history. Every month, new exhibits are on display and the museum offers a variety of programs for the community’s enjoyment.

The museum is located on the first floor of the Lake County Historic Courthouse, located at 317 W. Main St., Tavares. The museum is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, except legal holidays. View our map with driving directions.

February 4, 1926
Mount Dora Kiwanis Club was chartered. The first president was H.M. Tallmage.
February 4, 1930
Leesburg offered its first community radio program (over WDBO, in Orlando). The program consisted of several talks about the town together with entertainment that included a trombone solo by Fred Herlong.
