Historical society, community college present history series
The Lake County Historical Society and the Business Resources Center of Lake-Sumter Community College are presenting a "Lake and Sumter County History Series" on five Tuesdays between Feb. 26-April 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. at room 131 of the Health Science Center at Lake-Sumter Community College, located at 9501 U.S. Highway 441 in Leesburg.

Decorated tree to honor Lake County veterans
A memorial and honor tree was erected today in front of the Historic Courthouse, 317 W. Main Street, Tavares as a tribute to Lake County veterans who have served and are serving in the armed services.

Pickle festival could be the 'bread and butter' of the Lake County Historical Museum's annual events
More than five dozen visitors to the Lake County Historical Museum on Oct. 26 found themselves in a "pickle" as they had to choose between activities, exhibits and pickle samples all in a celebration of the County's cucumber heritage.
