Fresh and scrumptious are at the top of Finlay's menu

Opened for two years, Finlay's Steak & Seafood restaurant is growing a customer base with its dedication to fine dishes, fresh ingredients and impeccable service.

Finlay's lunch and dinner menus are dominated with succulent steaks, such as an 18-ounce T-bone, Filet Mignon and New York Strip, and mouthwatering seafood selections, including Mahi Mahi, Yellow Fin Tuna and Atlantic Salmon. While fine steak and seafood dishes are prominent at Finlay's, the restaurant also serves a variety of pork, chicken, soups and salads.

"My favorite dish is the Mediterranean Chicken," said Donna Waldron, general manager of Finlay's. "The grilled chicken breast is smothered with artichoke hearts, sundried tomatoes and a basil cream sauce."

Without a doubt, the star of Finaly's dishes is the main courses, but even the casual food critic is often quick to notice the side dishes. The salad greens, potato dishes and vegetables are prepared fresh every day.

"We cut our salad greens fresh every morning, and our beef are excellent cuts from Buckhead Beef in Atlanta," Waldron said. "Everything that comes across the line is cooked fresh on an order basis."

Another fresh feature of Finlay's that isn't shared by too many eateries is its fresh baked goods. The table bread, desserts and, even, the Kaiser rolls from the lunchtime hamburgers are freshly baked from the Sunshine Mountain Bakery. Edgar Payne, who owns Finlay's, also operates the local bakery and Gables Restaurant in downtown Mount Dora.

With all this excellent food coming across the table, it's easy to forget that Finlay's is a casual restaurant with friendly service. The family oriented establishment creates an atmosphere that is ideal for celebrating special events.

"I think that little extra bit of attention in the service sets us apart," Waldron said. "We want the customer to relax and enjoy the experience."
