TAVARES — For the third consecutive year, the Lake County 4-H air rifle team has taken top honors at the annual Florida 4-H Air Rifle Match held at 4-H Camp Ocala. The EGC Target Teens won eight out of the 12 awards at the event, including the award for first place senior team.
The seniors competing were Naomi Flack, Andrew Hallmark, Blake Guy, Benjamin McKinney and Jimmy Swoll. In the individual senior competition, Naomi, Andrew and Blake won first, second and third place respectively.
In the intermediate division, the team of Matthew Guy, Joseph Sousa and John Osteen won the first place team award, with Matthew placing first and John placing third individually. Lake County’s only junior shooter, Luke McKinney, won the second place award for his division.
The EGC Target Teens 4-H program receives support from the Eustis Gun Club. The 4-H air rifle program emphasizes shooting safety and is open to 4-H members 8 years and older.
