TAVARES — Lake County Commissioners voted Tuesday to delay a rezoning hearing for a 115-acre parcel in the Minneola area.
Lake County Schools are requesting the property, which lies south of the Florida Turnpike, north of Sullivan Road and west of Grassy Lake Road, to be rezoned from agriculture to community facility district for the construction of school facilities.
At the request of the Lake County School Board, County Commissioners voted 4-to-1 in favor of delaying the hearing until Monday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m. The public hearing will be held at Minneola City Hall, located at 800 N. U.S. Highway 27.
“I think this will give everyone an opportunity to comment on the proposal,” said Commissioner Bob Pool.
