TAVARES — The Lake County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program is requesting the Lake County Commission approve amendments to its federal fiscal year 2004-08 Consolidated Plan.
The CDBG program is administered at the federal level by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, which makes funds available to local governments. The Community Development Block Grant Division of the Department of Community Services administers the Lake County CDBG program. The Division is responsible for ensuring the funds are used to improve the living environment, quality of life and housing opportunities for low and moderate-income citizens.
The proposed budget amendments will be presented to the Lake County Board of County Commissioners during a public hearing at the board meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
Copies of the amendments will be available for public inspection between Dec. 19 and Jan. 18 during normal working hours at the Lake County Community Services Annex, 31150 Industry Drive, Tavares. For more information, call CDBG Program Director Liz Eginton at 343-1864.
