TAVARES — A public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 15, at 5 p.m. to inform residents along Hartle Road, located southeast of the City of Clermont, about plans to widen and realign the road.
The meeting will be held at the South Lake Campus of Lake-Sumter Community College, located at 1250 N. Hancock Road, Clermont. At the meeting, staff from the Lake County Department of Public Works and transportation consulting firm of HNTB Corporation will provide information and answer questions about the proposed roadway improvements.
The Lake County Department of Public Works recently initiated a project development and environment study for Hartle Road, from Hartwood Marsh Road to State Road 50. The purpose of this study is to identify and evaluate alternative alignments and typical sections for widening the road. Additionally, the evaluation will include realigning Hartle Road with County Road 455 at State Road 50 and extending the corridor to the south from Magnolia Island Boulevard to connect to Hartwood Marsh Road.
For more information about the Hartle Road public meeting, call Noble Olasimbo, Project Manager for the Department of Public Works, at (352) 253-4983.
