Residential drop-off sites, landfill to discontinue extended hours
TAVARES — Effective Wednesday, Oct. 27, the Lake County Department of Environmental Services will end the extended emergency hours of operation set for hurricane debris removal. Normal operating hours are as follows:
RESIDENTIAL DROP-OFF SITES AND LANDFILL WILL REMAIN OPEN FROM 7:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M.

Additionally, residents are asked to place storm-related debris for pick-up curbside no later than Nov. 1, to enable County officials to make a final assessment of remaining debris.
Residents may continue to dispose of their normal yard waste by placing the yard waste in bags or cans weighing no more than 50 pounds. Limbs and branches no bigger than 6 inches around and 4 feet in length must be bundled, also weighing no more than 50 pounds. For more information, call (352) 253-4980.
