Household hazardous waste collection event to be held in Mount Dora
Lake County Solid Waste is encouraging Lake County residents to dispose of toxic materials in a safe and environmentally sensitive way at an upcoming Household Hazardous Waste Collection event. The county’s Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Unit will be on site from 9 a.m. – noon on Thursday, Oct. 27 at Walmart, located at 17030 U.S. Highway 441, Mount Dora.

Hurricane Matthew Update No. 11: A river flood warning remains in effect for the St. Johns River at Astor
A River Flood Warning remains in effect for the St. Johns River at Astor, per the U.S. National Weather Service Melbourne Florida: Minor flooding will continue on the St. Johns River at Astor. Levels will remain elevated the next several days, but with a slight decrease into early next week. River levels on the St. Johns River above Lake Harney near Geneva are expected to slowly rise to Action Stage late this weekend and remain elevated into next week.
