Commission recognizes valuable contribution of emergency personnel with proclamation
As part of National EMS Week, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners recognized the contribution of EMS professionals by issuing a proclamation at the regular Board meeting on Tuesday, May 21.

Commission to recognize valuable contribution of emergency personnel during ‘National EMS Week’
— National EMS Week provides an opportunity to honor the men and women who serve on the front line of pre-hospital emergency medical care—telecommunicators, paramedics and emergency medical technicians. “EMS: One Mission … One Team” is this year’s theme. As part of National EMS Week, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners will recognize the contribution of EMS professionals by issuing a proclamation which will be presented at the regular Board meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 in the Board Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares.

Prescription drugs, hazardous waste to be collected in Groveland
The Lake County Solid Waste Division, in partnership with the city of Groveland’s Police Department, is encouraging Lake County residents to dispose of unwanted medications and toxic materials in a safe and environmentally sensitive way – helping to prevent improper use by others – at an upcoming Prescription Drugs and Household Hazardous Waste Collection. The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 23 in the parking lot of the Groveland Police Department, 408 Orange St., Groveland.
