LEESBURG — A host of dignitaries including Lake County Commissioner Debbie Stivender, State Sen. Carey Baker and Sheriff Chris Daniels are expected to turnout Tuesday, June 14, for a military fundraiser benefiting families of recently deployed National Guardsmen from Lake County.
The event will take place at the Leesburg Wal-Mart Supercenter Store located at 2501 N. Citrus Blvd. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fundraiser will include live music, raffles, door prizes and food, such as sodas, chips and hotdogs. All prizes and food items for the event are being donated.
For more information about donating items for this event, call Debbie Tart at (352) 409-4038.
The fundraiser will specifically benefit families of 16 guardsmen from the Delta Company 2nd Battalion 124th Infantry based at the Eustis Armory, which recently received notice they were being deployed to Afghanistan.
"I can't think of a better way to spend a Tuesday afternoon then supporting the men and women that serve to protect our country's freedoms," Commissioner Stivender said. "I encourage all Lake County residents and visitors to turn out for this worthy cause."
