LEESBURG — The Lake County Parks & Trails Division is conducting bird and butterfly surveys at PEAR Park, located at 5336 University Ave., Leesburg, on Saturday, July 25, and is requesting the help of local bird and butterfly enthusiasts.
The bird & butterfly survey will be conducted from 7 to 10 a.m. Park rangers are encouraging birders who can identify common birds by sight or sound to participate. Volunteers participating in the butterfly survey should be able to identify most common species. The activity will include hiking about 2 miles on trails and participants are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear.
