MOUNT DORA — Milling and repaving is scheduled to begin Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 a.m. on Wolf Branch Road, east of U.S. Highway 441 to Niles Road.
According to the Lake County Department of Public Works, the job is expected to continue through Saturday, Sept. 26. The project is part of the Countywide-resurfacing program awarded to DAB Constructors, Inc. The contractor finished repaving County Road 473 this week.
Motorists should expect delays in the area because of the construction. Public Works offers the following safety tips for motorists entering a roadway construction zone:
• Plan Ahead -- Allot extra travel time if you have to travel through this construction zone, or plan an alternative travel route to your destination.
• Stay Alert -- Motorists should obey any posted work zone advisories and signage. As with any driving situation, minimize interior and exterior distractions.
• Be Prepared to Stop — Drivers should be prepared to stop, slow down, shift lanes and yield to the movement of construction workers and equipment.
• Reduce Speed -- For the safety of all drivers and construction workers, normal posted speed limits are reduced in work zones. Motorists should maintain a safe distance between vehicles ahead, traffic barriers and construction workers and equipment.
