TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Public Works is advising all motorists that the County Road 561 detour established on Dec. 14 due to a traffic collision on Florida’s Turnpike will continue through the remainder of the year as construction to repair the Turnpike’s overpass commences.

To facilitate the overpass repair project, County Road 561 is closed at Turnpike Road and at the Turnpike overpass. The suggested detour routes are:

• Southbound traffic: County Road 455 west to State Road 19 south to U.S. Highway 27 south to County Road 561
• Northbound traffic: U.S. Highway 27 north to State Road 19 north to County Road 455 east to County Road 561
