Harris Chain of Lakes Restoration Council in need of volunteers

RELEASE DATE: February 15, 2012

Fruitland Park – The Harris Chain of Lakes Restoration Council is seeking applicants to fill vacancies for three volunteer positions on the council.

The vacancies include one position for a biology and/or science member and two positions for at-large members. Those who are interested should submit a cover letter, resume and references (including contact numbers) no later than March 15, 2012, to the office of: The Honorable Alan Hays, Florida Senate Attn: Anne-Marie Norman, 1104 Main St., The Villages, FL 32159.

The council serves as an advisor to the Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District. The Council’s duties include reviewing lake restoration and management projects, evaluating the need for additional studies, identifying sources of funding and making recommendations to the Florida Legislature.
