Lake County Extension invites citizens to attend educational program on protecting the home
Topics include mold and mildew, burglary and natural disasters

RELEASE DATE: March 6, 2012

TAVARES – The Lake County Extension is inviting residents to attend an educational program entitled “Closing Your Seasonal Home” on Monday, March 26 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Lake County Agriculture Center, located at 1951 Woodlea Road in Tavares.

This program, presented by Julie England, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent with the University of Florida/IFAS Lake County Extension, will teach participants ways to prevent damage to their homes when it’s left unoccupied for an extended period of time.  
 

The program will cover a wide range of topics including ways to prevent mold and mildew problems, preparing your home for natural disasters, protecting your home from burglars and vandals, and updating important documents. 
 

The program is free and pre-registration is strongly encouraged, as space is limited. To register, log on to www.preparehome.eventbrite.com.
