MINNEOLA – The Lake County Rowing Association, recently launched by the Leadership Lake Class of 2011, is inviting residents to attend its “Inaugural Row” on Sunday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to noon at Lake Minneola.
During the “Inaugural Row,” participants will row across the lake, as they move their boats to the Minneola site.
The mission of the newly-formed Lake County Rowing Association will be to educate local residents on the intricacies rowing, and in the future, it hopes to host high school and college-level rowing competitions.
“We are excited to see the Rowing Association launched here in Lake County,” said Scott Blankenship, Director of Lake County’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism. “This highlights Lake County’s natural resources and the possibility of hosting rowing regattas could have significant positive economic impacts to the area.”
