GROVELAND – The Lake County Parks & Trails Division is inviting residents to attend a hiking event entitled “Upland Prowl” on Saturday, June 30 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Pasture Reserve, located on Lake Erie Road (N 28° 28’43.80” W 81° 52’42.19”) in Groveland.
On this excursion, participants will explore parts of the 800-acre site, located in the heart of the Floridan Aquifer. The reserve features uplands and wetlands, and is home to an abundance of wildlife such as alligators, gopher tortoises, deer and turkeys.
This event is free and would-be participants are encouraged to bring water, snacks, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat and hiking shoes.
