TAVARES – Coming off the heels of its five-year anniversary celebration, LakeXpress, Lake County’s fixed-route public transportation service, has transported its one-millionth rider.
The one-millionth rider, Debbie Turner, a resident of Leesburg, has been riding LakeXpress for four years. Like many riders, she uses the bus service for everyday travel needs, including transportation to and from work, shopping and taking her daughter to the library. Turner says one reason she loves the bus service is that the drivers are always friendly and helpful.
“We at LakeXpress would like to congratulate Ms. Turner for being the one-millionth rider and to thank her for being such a loyal patron of the service for so many years,” said Ken Harley, Manager of the Lake County Public Transportation Division.
As the one-millionth rider, Turner will receive free rides on LakeXpress for one year.
