TAVARES – The deadline to enter the “Xpress Yourself - Tell Your LakeXpress Story” contest has been extended to Friday, Aug. 31.

In this contest, residents who ride LakeXpress will have the opportunity to win various prizes by submitting videos, photos, illustrations or essays about the benefits of LakeXpress and why others should use the service.

The prizes that contestants have a chance to win include a 32-inch Phillips LCD television, an 8GB Apple iPod Nano or a Kodak Easyshare M532 digital camera.

A panel of judges will evaluate entries and choose finalists based on specific criteria that include:

• Inclusion of a LakeXpress bus, shelter or logo in their entry
• A compelling story
• Portrays transit in a positive way
• The quality of the end product, and the ability of the video, photo, or written essay in attracting public attention
