CLERMONT – Officials from the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, along with area residents and contractors, cut the ribbon today on the newly completed Lakeshore Bridge located on Lakeshore Drive in Clermont.
The bridge, traveled by over 13,000 vehicles per day, took 16 months to complete. The $3.1 million project included the replacement of the previous two-lane, five-span bridge, with a new two-lane, single-span bridge.
The project was funded by a grant received through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, as well as $750,000 in federal funding supported by former U.S. Congresswoman Ginny Brown-Waite.
