TAVARES – Lake County recently won big at the Florida Festivals and Events Association (FFEA) Convention & Trade Show, held in Delray Beach. Lake County brought home five Gold Medal SUNsational Awards for creative and collateral materials developed for the inaugural Wings and Wildflowers Festival, to be held Sept. 28-30 in Tavares.
Lake County’s entries, each designed in-house by County staff, won first prize in all five categories for which they were under consideration. The award-winning materials included the Wings and Wildflowers Festival rack card, poster and seed packet, a magazine ad featured in WildBird Magazine and social media marketing for the event.
“We are proud and excited to have a world-class creative team and that their hard work was recognized by the FFEA,” said Scott Blankenship, Director of Lake County’s Office of Economic Development & Tourism. “These awards are a testament to the hard work of our talented employees, and they exemplify the level of excellence we strive for on a daily basis.”
Entries were judged on a point system by a panel of experts representing various sectors of the media and marketing industries including promotions, graphic design, advertising, public relations, social media and special event production.
The Florida Festivals and Events Association aims to promote and strengthen Florida’s festival, event and fair industry through education, networking, dissemination of information, and the cultivation of high standards for the industry. Through the SUNsational Awards Program, the FFEA recognizes innovation, individuality and creative collaboration within the industry.
