TAVARES — The Lake County Department of Environmental Services is holding a spring plant sale to benefit the March of Dimes on Friday, April 18, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at its main office, located at 13130 County Landfill Road, Tavares.
The sale will include different varieties of house and landscaping plants donated by local nurseries in Lake and Orange counties. The public is invited to attend. For more information, call (352) 343-3776.
“One hundred percent of everything is donated from the potting soil to the plastic bags to put it in,” said Patti Young, a senior customer services representative for the Lake County Department of Environmental Services and one of the coordinators of the annual plant sale.
The plant sale is one of many fundraisers Lake County employees conduct during the month of April for an annual March of Dimes fund-raising campaign. Last year, Lake County employees raised more than $10,000 for the March of Dimes.
